It turned out that the “media minister” of ISIS, Ömer Yetek, who had the images of the cremation of two Turkish soldiers taken and served, and who was released in the trial, was also engaged in trade in Turkey. In his statement, it was determined that Yetek, who said that he had a company he founded in 2006, made false statements to the police. According to the records of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), Yetek had 3 companies and established the first one in 2002. On the other hand, it was learned that Yetek was declared a “traitor” by his predecessor organizations because he was a confessor.

Ömer Yetek, the “media minister” of ISIS, who took pictures of the burning of two Turkish soldiers and had them served, was released pending trial on April 16, 2020. New information has been obtained about Yetek. It turned out that Yetek was engaged in trade before joining ISIS. Yetek established 3 separate companies with his partner Fadli Şipalli. It was seen that Yetek, who joined ISIS in January 2015, still continued to operate the company during his stay there.
According to ITO records, Yetek’s partner was Fadli Şipallı. Yetek, in his statement at the Anti-Terrorism Directorate in Ankara on January 31, 2018, said that he was a partner of Şipallı, but it turned out that he gave false information about the number of companies they founded and the date of establishment. In his statement, Yetek stated that they established a company with Şipallı in 2006 in Istanbul Sultanbeyli for 30 thousand liras to do bag business.

According to ITO records, Yetek misled the security; Yetek had 3 companies, the first of which he founded in 2002. According to the records, the company in Yetek’s safety statement is Sena Grup Plastik, which was founded on June 13, 2006, and has a capital of 30 thousand liras. 15 thousand liras of the capital belongs to Yetek and 15 thousand liras belongs to Şipallı. Yetek closed the company on October 9, 2014, about 3 months before joining ISIS. Yetek was selling the plastics produced by this company at his shop in Maltepe. In the ITO records, the activity of Yetek’s company was explained as “The manufacture, import and export of all kinds of rubber and plastic profiles and profiles related products and materials, and other works written in the main contract”.
According to ITO records, one of the two companies that Yetek did not mention in his safety statement is CM Plastik products, which was founded on March 26, 2002 with a capital of 10 thousand liras. Yetek’s partner in this company is also from Şipal. In this company, Yetek was shut down on February 18, 2015, about a month after he joined ISIS. The field of activity of this company is “Manufacture, domestic trade, import and export of products made of all kinds of plastics and other works written in the decision of the board of partners registered on June 10, 2004”.

“Because it is a confessor, it is not accepted among the predecessors”
On the other hand, it was learned that Ömer Yetek was ostracized by Salafist groups and declared a “traitor” after he became a confessor. It was learned that the Salafi groups wanted Yetek’s congregation before he joined ISIS, that no one should join anymore, and Yetek was no longer considered a teacher. In his assessment to ANKA News Agency, one of the predecessor groups said, “We did not participate because we did not adopt the bloody methods of ISIS. At that time, when our teacher met with Yetek and İlyas Aydın, he conveyed that they would not pledge allegiance to ISIS. “Because he is a confessor, the talent is not accepted among the Salafists and is seen as a traitor,” he said.
